On the eve of a brand new season all of us at The Sky Blue Trust would like to wish Mark Robins and the team every success for the forthcoming campaign.
After the excitement of Wembley in May the feel good factor has returned and there is now renewed expectation as we prepare to embark on the League One journey.
Whether we can achieve back to back promotions remains to be seen but we know that our tremendously loyal fans will, once again, back the team to the hilt as we look to progress on last seasons promotion.
Mark Robins appears to have worked well in the transfer market this summer. New recruits like Junior Brown, Reise Allassani, Brandon Mason, Abu Ogogo and just in last 24 hours Jordy Hiwula look to have strentghened the squad and the year long loan signing of Dujon Sterling could hopefully work similarly to Adam Armstrong and Jacob Murphy during Tony Mowbrays reign.
The fact that Tom Bayliss remains at the club despite speculation to the contrary is also a huge positive.
Sadly Mark McNulty has departed for Reading and we wish him well playing in the Championship. It is however a massive blow and we hope Robins receives full backing in his quest to further strengthen the squad ahead of the August transfer window closure with the additional strike force he alluded to following the exciting signing of Hiwula on Thursday.
This could be a pivotal year for the Sky Blues. There remains the off field concerns of the ongoing legal action by the club owners as well as uncertainty about the future of the training ground at Ryton. There's also the issue of where we'll be playing our home matches when the 1 year Ricoh deal ends next May.
Concerns that will occupy our thoughts in the months ahead.
However, for now ,with the big kick off now very close our thoughts are with Mark Robins and the players and what they can do on the pitch.
The play off triumph against Exeter City was fantastic and has given all of us supporters a taste for more of the same.
Here's to another season to remember !
