Published: 18 March 2014

The Sky Blue Trust will remain open to discussing, in a transparent and constructive manner, a solution to the problems at Coventry City FC. As has always been the case the Trust will seek to engage with all stakeholders in the dispute.

Allegations of conspiracy directed at the Trust are untrue, scurrilous and extremely unhelpful, serving only to deflect attention from the real issues at the Club.

Trust members and the fans in general require answers to many questions regarding the finances, the future of CCFC and a return to Coventry. We all eagerly await a full, clear and proper response to those concerns.

For clarity the aims of The Sky Blue Trust remain:

- To build and maintain membership of the Trust.

- To return the team to playing in Coventry.

- To secure supporter involvement in the ownership and management of the club

Coventry City Ladies v Brighton and Hove Ladies

  v

Sunday 16th March 2014
Ricoh Arena – Kick Off 2.00pm
Adults £5.00   Concessions  £3.00
Advance Tickets Available form Ticket Factory (booking fees applicable) https://www.theticketfactory.com
Tickets will be available on the gate.

On Sunday Coventry City Ladies are playing Brighton Ladies in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. The ladies are having a great season, currently on a 10 match winning streak and an unbeaten run of 15 matches stretching back to mid October 2013. The Ladies need and deserve your support so if you are not going to Sixfields to cheer on the men’s team why not try something different and watch these highly talented and dedicated footballers. CCLFC are hoping for a crowd of around 1000 but the more the merrier, like all football clubs they need revenue and every ticket sold helps fund their ambitions.

Coventry City Finances

As you may be aware the Sky Blue Trust put a suggestion to CCFC that the Trust organize a forum for supporters to ask the club questions about the clubs finances. Sadly Mr Labovitch, the clubs independent Director, has turned down our offer but rather suggested the club holds its own forum to cover a wider range of topics rather than just the finances. When details of the club’s forum are released we will of course let you know.

In the meantime Coventry City supporters are rightly concerned by the financial figures recently filed at Companies House by the Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Group and the club. Add to that the financial & emotional effects of the clubs move to Northampton and these are worrying times for the fans not just looking back at these historical figures but what the future holds for the club.

In the absence of a forum on the finances we therefore would ask the Directors / owners of Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited (SBS&L), Otium Entertainment Group Limited (OEG) and CCFC to explain clearly and in detail the following.

1: Why have financial statements of CCFC Limited and CCFC Holdings Limited never been filed for 2012 or 2013? Those for 2012 were due at Companies House and Football league before any event or decision to wind up either company?

2: Given that the attendances at Sixfields are very low and the knock on effect of that financially, how will CCFC meet the requirements of the League 1 Salary Cost Management Protocol and still assemble a competitive team capable of challenging for promotion next year? What is the playing squad profile aimed at?  What other sources of sales or income or other cash injections are expected to be achieved that will count towards the calculation and make squad improvements possible or even retain current budgets? Are there still savings on player wages to be achieved?

Sky Blue Trust Offer To Host Forum On CCFC Accounts

Details
Published: 11 March 2014
Last week the club published their accounts and they make interesting reading and have raised many questions among Trust members. Independent club Director Mr Mark Labovitch appeared on Coventry and Warwickshire radio on Friday evening to answer some points about them and during this programme made the offer to explain them in a Fans Forum. The Trust decided this was a great idea and this morning we sent the following e-mail to Mr Labovitch

Dear Mr Labovitch

Last week the 2013 accounts of Sky Blue Sports and Leisure were published and, as I am sure you are aware, caused interest and alarm in equal quantities amongst Coventry City supporters. The bare headlines make for shocking reading and many fans would like a fuller explanation to put their minds at rest over the future of their club. You did an interview with Clive Eakin on Coventry and Warwickshire radio on Friday evening and tried to cover some of the fans concerns, unfortunately the format of the show did not allow supporters to put over their worries nor for you to answer them. However during the show you proposed a fans forum involving yourself and Steve Brookfield answering these concerns in person. The Sky Blue Trust would very much like to assist you in getting the information to supporters and we are making this open offer to organise the event at the earliest mutually convenient date.

Please come back to me as soon as possible so we can discuss format, dates etc. and get this important and informative event agreed and booked

Regards

Jan Mokrzycki
On Behalf of Sky Blue Trust

Sadly Mr Labovitch has declined our genuine offer and is suggesting an alternative idea
