Congratulations to the Sky Blues for another impressive victory against Burton Albion today. The battling qualities shown by the side in gaining all 3 points against a very capable side was great to see.
The victory was all the more pleasurable bearing in mind the absence of Adam Armstrong ( amongst others) on international duty but to his credit Marcus Tudgay came in and did an excellent job, took his goal beautifully and contributed to a determined team effort and a thoroughly dererved win. Any doubts about the legitimacy of Roman Vincelot's deft winner were also put to bed by the Sky TV cameras who proved it was a perfectly good goal.
Thirteen points from the opening six games is a terrific return. To be 2nd in the table albeit at this early stage has given city supporters the sort of lift we've all been looking for. There is now a genuine excitement about Tony Mowbrays team and real hope that we are finally moving in the right direction. The two signings this week have provided much needed strengthening to the squad and we'd like to welcome and send our best wishes to Marc-Antoine Fortune and Lateef Elford-Alliyu. We hope there are at least a couple more to join them in the coming weeks.
There is much to be upbeat about so let's hope the good times continue at Scunthorpe next week and that we then see a bumper crowd at the Ricoh the following Saturday at home to Chesterfield.
Well done Sky Blues. Another happy day with Coventry City FC.
